The Spanish Fishing Tourism Network is an initiative sponsored by the European Union - NextGenerationEU, as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, within the framework of the Tourism Experiences Spain Program, managed by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Ministry of Industry and Tourism, Government of Spain.

The founding members of the Network are the Consortium for Sustainable Tourism of the Western Coast of Huelva (the project coordinator), Fishingtrip, Turismo Marinero de Murcia (marine tourism in Murcia), the Expomar Foundation, the Abica Group, GALP Ader La Palma (Local Fisheries Action Group of La Palma), Ociomar Torrevieja (marine leisure activities in Torrevieja), and Fundació Promediterrània (best known for managing the Fishing Museum of Palamós).

The Spanish Fishing Tourism Network is an open project, welcoming all companies, organizations, and activities — especially sea professionals who develop tourism experiences — provided they commit to meeting certain mandatory and complementary requirements, as outlined in the “Handbook for the Creation and Implementation of the Spanish Fishing Tourism Network”, available on this same website under the “Network Handbooks” section.

The goal of the Spanish Fishing Tourism Network is to create a new national tourism product with international projection, aimed at promoting fishing and aquaculture tourism as a new brand for Spain.
