We propose to the public to know the work, the craftsmanship, the culture and the tradition of the net menders of A Guarda in Galicia in a visit in which you will be able to know our workshops. The profession of net mender has a fundamentally manual character and requires a high qualification to know the techniques and to be able to repair the different fishing nets (arrossegament, purse seine, enmallat, etc.). It is an essential job, with a long tradition, which allows most of the fishing boats to go fishing, as the fishing nets are a fundamental element.
Here, you won’t just see how a bluefin tuna is cut. We offer a modern and comfortable space specially designed to enjoy live tuna cutting, where we also promote the rich culture surrounding bluefin tuna and our innovative fishing methods. You’ll learn how to distinguish between different tuna grades, enjoy a small tasting, and discover many other fascinating details. Fresh tuna and other gourmet products are available for purchase in our shop.
