The salt works of Tenefé, in the municipality of Santa Lucía (Gran Canaria), is one of the island's flagships in terms of historical heritage. It is more than 250 years old and preserves one of the oldest and most traditional trades of the Canary Islands, that of the salt works. It has a great value from the architectural point of view, being the oldest salt works of Gran Canaria at present. It is a rich place ornithologically speaking, since it is a crossing point for migratory birds, especially waders. It also has endemic flora of the place. There are other patrimonial resources within this protected area of Las Salinas, such as vestiges of the Second World War or pre-Hispanic aboriginal Necrócopolis.
Isla Cristina in Huelva is the seafaring and fishing town by excellence, since it is the first fish market in the Andalusian ranking and the second at national level, behind Vigo.
